Nesting in Aspire

Post by woodgraver »

Happy New Year...I'm running into some difficulty nesting some vectors. Well, I guess there are 72 to be exact...the error message I am receiving is:

General nesting error (663).
Drawing : 1 18425C40. Number of Entities exceeded the limit.
General nesting error (17).
Invalid state. Can not construct the geometry in this state.
General nesting error (609).
Part : 1 18425C40. Can not get the part drawing.

I thought this would be an easy task for Aspire...but maybe 72 is beyond it's capability?

Thanks so much,

Jim Pyle

Did you already check your layout for vector issues such as duplicate vectors??

I have...I have now tried it with just 7 vector shapes that make up a single rose...and keep getting the same error messages.

Are your vectors open or closed? Are they grouped?

Post your example file. Unfortunately, our power is out and no wifi until it's restored, so I cannot take a look at it for you until then. (I'm using iPhone data at the moment)

I tried...even with just the drawing it was too big to upload. I just created two shapes from scratch, a square and a star, and tried nesting them and got the same error messages as before. I must be doing something wrong or maybe my program has a glitch in it.

Well, I think I solved my problem. I'm trying to nest these parts for a plasma cutter, and other software requires the file be a .dxf file. When I imported it into Aspire, there mere hundreds of nodes. I went back into my drawing program (Corel Draw) and got rid of all the extra nodes and now everything nests just fine.

Glad that worked for you but I have no idea why reducing the nodes made it work!

BTW, you didn't need to go into CorelDRAW to reduce the nodes. The Vectric software has a node reduction feature (which I actually like better than Corel's)

Thank you for letting us know you solved the problem.
