Hello!
I am modifying the bentwood picture frame a bit.. in the seat pad, I am engraving a name using a v-bit.
The problem is when I try exporting the gcode, it says that the v-carving and the cut out profile use the same tool number. There are 3 toolpaths now for this... 2 use a 1/8" EM, the other a v-bit... the v-bit being first. I edit the tool and it says it is tool 1. I edit the second toolpath, edit the tool, set it to 2. Go to the last toolpath, set it to 2 as well (same tool). Problem is, then the middle toolpath changes back to 1 and I have the same problem.
I tried setting the tools 1, 2, and 3 consecutively... still get the same error because it keeps changing back.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Both use tool number 1 but the geometry of the tools are...

DOH! Forgot the full error...
"both use tool number 1 but the geometry of the tools are different."
That of course is because one is an endmill, the other is a v-bit.

Got it figured out.. had to recalculate the toolpaths in order for the change to take effect.. DUH!

I love it when I see someone arguing and answering themselves. Glad you figured it out. It's not about having a problem - it's all about solving that problem. You did good.

Haha thanks! Yea.. I was struggling with that for some time before I posted, then after I posted it dawned on me what I was doing wrong. Still had some issues after, not with that though, luckily!
