First Inlay Project

Post by Bwcherry »

Cutting board for a friend. Left handed Fender Telecaster. Everything is inlay except music symbols which are lasered. Made lot's of mistakes and took several months, but mistakes are good. They teach us. :-)

That is a very fine "first" inlay project.

It's pretty clear that you've a very experienced woodworker and that your CNC skills are well beyond "beginner" status! Thank you for sharing your lovely carving board with us. Awesome!

Ok, tell us how you wrapped those inlayed picks around the juice groove. The inlay must be really thick. That looks amazing. +1

The inlay is roughly .21 and the juice groove is .25 so some will show. The picks were an after thought because I accidentally went too deep on the clearing of the guitar body and had to come up with something to cover it. Lots of prayer later, then came the idea of the picks. :-)
