I'M BACK! I know you're excited Shark - but here's some feedback for you!

First, test cuts in some plywood show the finger joints do very well. I'll probably go down on the dado clearance and up on the finger clearance for next test. Here's a "together" pic that required quite a bit of "persuasion" to get in place.
unnamed.jpg
The downside here is that I did two drawers (identical) at the same time. Simply done thanks to changing the "Count" to 2. Unfortunately, I had one set of drawer components come out correctly, but the other drawer the fingers appear to have been placed incorrectly. Unfortunately I didn't notice this inside of Vectric, but had to cut them to find out (doh!).
unnamed2.jpg
After scratching my head, a quick look at the vectors shows the problem:
vectors.jpg
I haven't had the cycles to see if this was done when just doing one drawer at a time or if it's because I decided to tell the gadget "2" - but I'm suspecting the latter. Let me know if I've somehow missed a setting, but I didn't see anything obvious on my side...

Also, and I'm even hesitate to comment on this again, but if I take the default placement on the sheet and use the "Nesting" feature for best fit, the toolpaths throw the error again regarding bad data. Everything works and recalculates just fine as long as I don't move the sides/fronts on the sheet. Still may be something on my system causing this issue, but thought I'd mention this "variation" of the earlier issue I was experiencing.

Okay first issue in Bold above --

I have looked at this and you are correct in that the FINGERS on the Right Side Part moves for multiple parts. As I am NEW to coding I have brought this up to Jim5000 of Jim Andi Gadgets so we should have this fixed soon! In the meantime Copy/Paste the Correct Side Part as many times as you wish then don't forget to re-Calculate Toolpaths.
Screenshot 1_Fingers Incorrect.png
Second issue Italicized above ---

I have never played around with using Nesting after the gadget so I have not seen the issue you are referring to. But I can manually move the parts around on any given sheet and re-calculate with no issues.

Thank you for Bringing these issues to our attention! We will fix what can be fixed and monitor those where there may be an issue. Without your and other forum members issues/comments/remarks etc... we would not be able to produce a quality usable gadget.

Thank You,

Hello All,

1.) Fixed the Right Side Moving Fingers when selecting Multiple Drawers.

This Version 4.5

Supports: 10.5 and up

Install
1. Download the gadget EasyDrawerMaker.zip that is attached to this post.
2. Rename it from EasyDrawerMaker_4.5.zip to EasyDrawerMaker.vgadget
3. In Vectric Pro or Aspire click on Gadgets -> Install Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it and click Ok.

It should give you a pop up saying the gadget was installed and you should see EasyDrawerMaker in the Gadgets menu.

Steps for Use:

1. Setup a new drawing with the proper material size
2. Run the EasyDrawerMaker gadget
3. Enter the proper values for the drawer opening, clearances, the materials thickness and sizes for the drawer parts
4. Open the Project menu, select where to write the BOMs
5. Open the Milling menu, check the values and select the joint type
6. On the Main menu, select the tooling you use to mill the drawer parts
7. Press the OK button
EasyDrawerMaker_4.5.zip

Rename this Folder to EasyDrawerMaker_4.5.vgadget

To Work on NEXT:

As mentioned in earlier post adding a Bottom Styling Option (similar to the Tray Maker Gadget). Captive Bottom, Rabbeted Bottom, and Flat Bottom.

Happy Carving!!!

Shark -
Immediately following the setup dialog I receive the following error message. The error message doesn't give me a whole lot to go on, so I'm unsure how to proceed. I attempted to change the save path just in case there was some type of permissions issue at the file system level, but no luck. Any thoughts?

Works Fine Here!

I even downloaded it from the forum and installed it into V-Carve Pro 11.0. Setup tools, path , etc... and ran it for 2 Drawers. A Total Fresh Install and it worked as expected. So I would have to say something fishy is going on on your end.

You may have a program that has a file open or had a file open in the location. the Operating System has blocked the write function. Check and see if any app is open (notepad, file explorer, etc..) close them and try again. I will work with SharkCutUp to add a error trap for this issue and it will be in the next gadget release.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi all,
This will be one of those "obvious when you know" things.
Can someone please tell me how to uninstall gadgets.
I have Easy drawer maker 4.3 & 4.4
I want to install 4.5 but I want to remove the other two first.
I have looked but can't see a way to do it.
I expect it's right under my nose.
Thanks.
Jim

Hello Jim,
This is Jim (AKA JimAndI)

It is easy to remove or uninstall a gadgets from your system.

Step one: Open up File Explorer and navigate to this location:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Vectric Files\Gadgets

You'll see versions of the Vectric software listed (here is a list of my directory)
Screenshot 2022-10-24 161653.png
Now navigate down into the version and into be particular Gadget you wish to remove and just delete it.
Screenshot 2022-10-24 162119.png
I do recommend making a backup copy to another location before deleting any files. In case you delete the wrong one, you can copy it back from your backup location.

Let us know if you have any issue.
Thanks,
Jim
