Can't figure out what's wrong, no toolpath generated

Post by IgorOst »

Hi guys,
I cut a project then changed the design a little , added a few curves and now Vcarve is telling me :
"no toolpath generated for current parameters, check if tool can fit into selected vectors at machining depth"

strangely, if I tell Vcarve to cut on the line, it works, but outside/right it gives this error message.
As it is a simple profile cut I don't know what's going on.

Can someone explain ?

many thanks,

Igor from Belgium

I have found a solution through

"curve fit"

but if anyone has some explanation why fiddling with curves creates a problem I 'd like ti hear it,

See you,

Igor

Errors like that which are resolved by Curve Fit are generally small loops or crossovers in the vectors that you can only see by zooming right in.

If you get an error like that again use the Vector Validator tool first to check for problems.

Hi Adrian,

"If you get an error like that again use the Vector Validator tool first to check for problems."

I did that, and at first there was an intersection, I took that away but the problem would not be resolved...
strange but I learned about curve fit, and that was new to me.

Anyhow, thanks for your reply,

Igor
