cutting only 180 degrees of the cylinder
Not sure if this can be done, but maybe one of the guru's in the forum has figured this out and can share for it to work with Aspire. I'd like to take a 3d model file, .STL, section off the front half, so now I have 180 degrees of the 360 model. This can be done with Aspire by cutting off everything below the "0" and then saving the STL file. When you bring the new file back into Aspire, choose the rotary project, you can now add the new STL and have 1/2 of the model. (rear side is gone, but flat). If you run the 3D finish tool path it uses the whole 360 of the cylinder. and because it sees the backside of the model cuts it flat. Is there a way to tell the software to stop at 90 degree each side of "0" and only cut the model leaving the back of the cylinder round?

Draw a vector around the model to limit where the rough and finish toolpaths cut.Is there a way to tell the software to stop at 90 degree each side of "0" and only cut the model leaving the back of the cylinder round?
