I got the Easy MDF door maker installed.
After you have decided on a door stile and set the parameters.
So am I correct in saying you have to set up your own G code for the door

Hi Jeff,
Yes, you are correct. The gadget only draws the Door geometry. Do you want it to make the toolpaths?
Thanks,
Jim

Yep, you should see a help button on the bottom left of the main screen.

If it doesn't work try www.jimandi.com look for the Easy gadget link and drill down to the mdf door gadget
Thanks,
Jim

Would it be possible to add something like the Flutes, but between the Inside Corners and the Exterior, so it looks like it's a real Wooden Door Front? Something like this:
alamo-2-0-1-2-2000x1500.jpg
This would also need a separate Layer Name....

I have a file that has all of the tool paths to do a raised panel door like the one in the picture.
It is made out of 1 piece of mdf it mimics the 5 piece wood raised panel door.
it is done using form tools. in V Carve Pro11

Hi Jeff,

Can you send me a copy of your file? If so, I will try to upgrade the gadget to make the toolpaths?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Benjamin,

Is this what you are looking for?

Here is Version 10.3 of the Easy MDF Door Maker gadget. I have added an option to have vertical scribe lines for the stiles the pronounced.
The scribe option works with individual and/or batch runs.
The scribe lines appear on their own specified layer so they can be easily selected and toolpath.

I have added a copy of the PDF help file within the Gadget's directory.

Hi Jeff,

Yes, you will need to download the most recent (version 10.3) and rename the zip file to have an extension of ".vgadget" you will have to open Vectric and load the new gadget. Once that is complete, you should see another "newer" version will appear in the gadgets pulldown menu.

I would use the new gadget for little while just to be sure you are comfortable how it works before removing the older version.

Always here to help. :)
Thanks,
Jim

Hello Jimandi,

Wow, you work really fast.

Thanks a lot for the new Version. I've tested it for the first time. Looks good. There is a little error though, namely the lines all have the Start points from Up to Down, so if you want to create a Toolpath, then you'll have to select a Outside Profile cut for the 2 lines on the Left side, and an Inside Profile for the 2 lines on the Right.

I've made you a screenshot with the Edited Node Points, which work on the Inside Toolpath.

So the Start Points of the Scribe Lines should according to these shown in the picture.

Thank you for your great work

I do my best to further test the Gadget.

Benjamin

Wonderful good day,

Sorry for writing so late...

Ok, I've tested the new Gadget, here is a Screenshot.

Now the Line Start Points are like this:
Upper Left: From Down to Up
Upper Right: From Down to Up
Lower Left: From Up to Down
Lower Right : From Up to Down

But they should be like this:

Upper Left : From Up to Down
Upper Right: From Down to Up
Lower Left: From Up to Down
Lower Right: From Down to Up

So that it works on the Inside of the Scribe.

Hi Benjamin,

That is a easy fix. I should be able to get that in 2 or 300 hours of coding. ;)
Thanks,
Jim
