Re: help for new balde in tools aspire
That looks like a veining bit used to put small vein lines in your design.
Re: help for new balde in tools aspire
Import image into Aspire / VCPro
Draw vectors over the top of the image around the cutter
Scale the vectors so the shank = the actual diameter of the cuter ie 3mm / 6mm
Measure the angle and actual tip diameter.
Your photo is pretty good so you should get a reasonably accurate result and
you can then create the appropriate cutter in the Tool Database.

175 ? ... something wrong !
Perhaps 15° is the corret misure. I made a misure on screen.

Re: help for new balde in tools aspire
Perhaps I'm wrong bur I think 15° is the correct total angle.
Re: help for new balde in tools aspire
If that is a .25 shank then it's 6° on each side.

Ok the total is 12° not 15° ... ... I take measure on screen only to show the exaggerate of 175° ... ...mark296 wrote:If that is a .25 shank then it's 6° on each side.

That looks like a Beckwith.
I just use the standard ball nose.

Re: help for new balde in tools aspire
Yes I think is the better way, but in my TRIAL version of Aspire I don't find in the tool library the "Radiused Engraving" ...
If the work/model have some height perhaps is better put like "Rounded Engravig", but in any way is a ballnose and normally is used to finishing tool paths and for that like a ballnose is a good way .
