How I make Edge lit displays
As I am not a technical writer or a power forum user... please check my pdf and crv files for mistakes and improvements.
Thanks

Re: How I make Edge lit displays
Looks very well done, however shouldn't this be on the Aspire forum?

You can use a trial copy of Aspire to Save As a .cry file to use in VCarve.. Any 3D information will be lost.sharkcutup wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 6:41 pmThank you!!! but ---

Re: How I make Edge lit displays
My apologies to all v carve users... this is the first time I have uploaded a Vectric file and did not know that you can’t use crv files.
As South Australia is currently on lock down for the next 6 days due to a COVID second wave outbreak we have been ordered to stay at home.
I shall draw this up in V Carve and repost the correct files today.
Again my apologies.
Ron

Re: How I make Edge lit displays
No need to do that Ron, if you open your Aspire file then select the file tab at the top of the screen, on the drop down list select save as. One of the options is to save as a CRV file,do that & those using Vcarve will be able to open it Just a note though, if there are any 3D components in the file then they won't be saved, the 2D part of the file will save OK thoughAussie wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 11:10 pmMy apologies to all v carve users... this is the first time I have uploaded a Vectric file and did not know that you can’t use crv files.

Re: How I make Edge lit displays
I was going to include a sample of the Acrylic panels I use but the file was too big and I don't really know how to use drop box etc

Re: How I make Edge lit displays
That is okay!
I will figure it out. But what may be helpful for others is posting types of bits used to carve acrylic and an approx. Feed/speed. Of course they will have to adjust for machine type.

Most of the time I use 3 toolpaths:
Drag Bit Pressure is 3mm
Etch - outline
Etch - fill Profile - Cutout
