Update Program Error

Post by AcBCDN »

I received the following error when trying to use the update program. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? Windows is up to date. Fresh reboot was done prior to retry. No other applications were opened.

Thanks

What kind of update are you trying to do? If it's an update from 10 to 10.5 then you need to do a complete new instal of 10.5 you can't use the blue update icon in the top right of the screen

I tried the update from inside the program and it failed. Different error but still failed. I went to the update site at Vectric and with some minor anomalies got it to update.

I ended up doing that as well with no issues.

I run Aspire so don't know if that is the difference, I updated via the blue link in top right corner from 10.507 to 10.509

I went to the https://www.vectric.com/support/program-updates area, downloaded and ran the appropriate patch. It worked!

When using/clicking the update message within the software, a lot of folks forget to shut down their Aspire or VCarve program immediately after the Update window appears on-screen. This causes the update to fail because their Aspire or VCarve software is still running.

Hi, Michael, there was definitely something different about this update that did not load right. I've done this before.

If you using Malwarebytes, temporally disable it.

The update to 10.509 seemed to install correctly for me however I get a recurring error with files that previously carved just fine.
