Ever since the upgrade to version 10.5 I have been very keen to try the single thread mill and I ended up buying one for a 6mm pitch.
I wasn't sure if it was the correct choice when it arrived because it looked too small but it turned out fine for a small ring box.
Insert is Corian, main body is Rock Maple and the band is Black Walnut, not quite finished as it needs the foam inserts.
I thought it was going to be a daunting task to produce a threaded box but the software takes care of it and it didn't hurt to re-watch the video by Beki.

Nice work, Dave! I love the Corian insert on the lid.
I’ve got to catch up with you, Scott, Martin and others...I have a couple of the “threading bits” but haven’t run a project with ‘em yet. Thank you for the inspiration!

That is a really nice box. I purchased a thread mill, but I've only run the training video. My aim is to make threaded boxes, so your project is something to shoot for. Nice work.

Hey Dave...
That is FANTASTIC!!! Live the idea and really never thought of that application. Thought my lanp project was cool... I think you may have topped it!!!
Well done, and thanks for taking the time to share.

Re: Got to use the Thread Mill
Thanks for the kind comments everyone, I think I was stunned when the threaded parts screwed together so well.
I was asked today if the threaded wood may become unusable after a period of time which I couldn't answer but I am guessing that if I use seasoned timber like Rock Maple and Walnut then I would stand a better chance of distortion not happening.
If someone has experience with threaded wood components then I would like to hear their feedback.

The lamp project is very cool Todd but it would probably be a bit ambitious of me to tackle that until I get some more practice so I have downloaded the file. Thanks for sharing that project. I am sure it would have taken quite a bit of time to work it out.

Hey Dave... you got me thinking about this project. The lamp project is just a series of your little boxes... but your box would make a nice seasoning shaker or even a pillbox.
Lots of great options you have made me think of... well done!
