If you want something like this
Image 956.png
You'll need to create an outline box vector and do a lot of node editing to break up the existing open vectors into closed vectors.
One outline closed vector
Image 958.png
And then closed vectors for each individual "hole"
Image 959.png
Then select all vectors (including the outline vector Mike spoke of) and use the Pocket Toolpath setting Cut depth to .1875

If you want a true weave like Sharkcutup and Carveone posted, I'm afraid that can't be accomplished in VCP it requires Aspire.

John, I think the weave sharkcutup posted is from the clipart supplied with the software so that one could be done with vcarve

Thank You. I did just that and I learned a few more things. I started out small with simple text and went from there. The preview shows just what I want the machine to cut.

Sometimes it can be difficult to ask how to do something when one does not know what something is called.

Thanks again
Andrew

Happy to hear you are moving along with your project! :)

Yup, the simulation preview is pretty darn accurate in showing what is going to occur with your carving.

Just remember to use the correct post processor when saving your toolpaths because that can definitely make a difference in your carvings.
