Re: Resin Inlay Cutting Board Hawks
Thank you all for your kind comments.
I expect the people I give these to will use them as a cutting board, it can always be resurfaced again to remove any cuts... I will be interested to see how well the resin holds up.
I should make my wife one so I can test the durability for myself.

Re: Resin Inlay Cutting Board Hawks
Question on your epoxy work. How do you get such a nice shine? Do you wet sand or use a polish? I struggle to get both my epoxy & Corian surfaces to sparkle like yours does.

Re: Resin Inlay Cutting Board Hawks
The finish is nothing special, I drum sand with 100 grit to remove the end mill tool marks after final flattening of the resin, then I use 120, 180 and 220 grits using a orbital sander.Holzarbeiter wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 2:13 pmQuestion on your epoxy work. The cutting board oil I use is Walrus food grade oil and gives a nice shine followed by Walrus wood wax.
I am very lazy when it comes to sanding and finishing.
