A friend is asking my opinion of a Gerber CNC ROUTER D200. If anyone can provide an informed opinion I would like to be able to help him with the decision.

Re: Any Gerber CNC Router
What is it you would like to know Phil ??
I have a gerber system 48 which is an older machine, I bought mine spares or repair very cheaply & then rebuilt it using modern electronics so never run it under gerbers motion control & software. Gerber machines run on their own proprietary software & I have no idea how that works as far as using something like Vectric software,
They were built mostly for profile cutting sign making materials so the z travel can be limiting, I only have 2 1/4" clearance under my gantry which at times is a problem. Had to rething a number of projects & use a thinner stock material. Think the Dimentions were a little better but worth checking. They are solidly built & if the machine hasn't been abused then it should be fine, be aware that Gerber no longer support these machines & there is unlikely to be any kind of help or support & if you can find them gerber spare parts are pretty expensive
Anything else you would like to know just ask, not saying I will know the answer but will help if I can.
