Easy BoxJoint Maker 3.2
Hello All,
I hope you and your family are in good health.
I was making some boxes on the mill using the Easy Box-joint Gadget 3.0. After cutting a few, I found I needed to add some relief cuts to each side of the board to prevent tearout. I went ahead and updated the code to Version 3.2 and now it adds a gentle relief on each side of the finger joint. Please review and let me know if you find any issues.
I'm getting bored sitting around so I'm gonna ask, are there any request out there for a Gadget?
I believe these pictures should be self explanatory, but if you have questions don't hesitate to let me know.

It works!! But I always have to remove .
Rather than commenting it out is there a download or setting so the nil error doesn't show up.
Code: Select all
require("mobdebug").start()

Re: Easy BoxJoint Maker 3.2
Hello All,
Here is Version 3.3
I was running the Box Joint Gadget today and found I needed to add clearance value to adjust the fit of the joint.
Fixed:
1. Commenting out debug code (Thanks AcBCDN)
2. Added the Clearance function (+ or - values) and made updates to Dialog (see picture below)
3. Incremented the Version number
Next Step:
1. Make a video on how to use the Gadget
2. Write the Help File
Have a look and let me know.

A sliding dovetail joint gadget would be nice to have. It’s a great joint and easy to cut once you figure it out.

Re: Easy BoxJoint Maker 3.2
hi Bilk,
I can do that! I am about to complete the Dovetail Gadget, I am about 95% done. I as soon as I am done I will bang one out for you to test drive.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Easy BoxJoint Maker 3.2
What is the current status of this gadget for Vcarve Pro 11? I need some additional options that Vectric's box gadget does not have.

Re: Easy BoxJoint Maker 3.2
Hello All,
I see that I have not posted this version of the EasyBoxJointMaker.
Version 4.0
The Easy Install Steps:
1. Download the gadget EasyBoxJointMaker.zip that is attached to this post.
2. Rename it from EasyBoxJointMaker.zip to EasyBoxJointMaker.vgadget
3. In Vectric Pro or Aspire click on Gadgets -> Install Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it and click Ok.
If successful, a pop up saying the gadget was installed and you should see EasyBoxJointMaker is now in the Gadgets menu.
Please leave me some feedback. I hope you find it useful.
