Zooming in the image

Post by rtibbs »

I apologize if this has been covered however, my search didn't come up with anything.
Unless I'm loosing it completely, before the new website I was able to zoom in on an image that was displayed.
That does not work now or maybe there is/are keystrokes to do this. Before all I had to do is left click on the image and it would zoom in.

Still does for me unless we're talking about different things. Whenever I click on an attached image it loads into a zoomed in popup window.

Ron, For max size I have to right click the pop up image, and View Image to get it as big as possible.
Then the back arrow on title bar(?) to return to regular size slide show.

Guess it must depend on the size of your screen and the size of the original image then. I can't recall ever zooming in on an image other than via the web browser itself rather than a function of the forum.

Those images are natively over 2,000 pixels wide so opening them in a new browser tab will let you use the browser zoom functions which is really just showing the image at it's full size rather than zooming.

As the forum image size was lower before it was rare for an image that large to be uploaded so I've never really needed to zoom before.

The difference between the old and new is the old opened (for me anyway) in a separate browser tab whereas the new opens in a popup window that is scaled to the size of your display.

As I use a large screen there isn't any real difference. If you're on a smaller screen then the easiest way is to probably right click on the image and use "Open Image in new tab" which should make it the same as the old forum. Personally I much prefer the old way as you don't have to go back all the time but I can see it might be a pain with a small screen.

Well, now I am befuddled. If right click on an image and open in a new window It opens larger and I can then right click and it is even larger. :?
I have the same monitor size that I have always had 23"

Hey, it works, just a different work around.

Thanks for the input guys

Whoa,,,whoa,,,whoa kids..
Scott,,,my good man,,,Where did you get those pictures???
I've been working With Todd Bailey from Vectric in an effort to figure out why I cannot upload pictures on the new forum.
That is the exact picture that we are working with.

Scott,
Thanks for the reply.
As you may or may not know, I've been having trouble posting pictures to the new forum.
I discovered today, that I have two copies of the exact same picture.
One will load and the other will not load.
We're still trying to figure it out.
I just thought it strange that the pictures that i am having trouble with are showing up.
No worries, all is good. :D :D :D

Hi Jan,

Are both photos the same file type? (*.jpg, or *.png, for example). Maybe you’ve got the same photo, but in different file types?

Also, if your photo(s) is a *.jpg make sure the suffix is not shown as *.jpeg. Some forums “don’t like” the “jpeg” suffix. (And make sure the suffix is in all lower-case letters - sometimes upper-case suffixes fail to be recognized.)

Reading through many of the comments, it appears I am not alone into thinking the current index view of the galleries of just a picture doesn't work for me. When I am at the home and see new posts were added to the gallery, I click into the gallery and ALL I see are pictures of each thread. Absolutely clueless as to which threads have new posts. The only way to find out is to click through into each one and scroll through to see if it has a new post or not. Very annoying. Please put the galleries back to normal index info.

I think thats more of a general issue with cell phone pics than the forum.
I find that the only way I can get mine to look right here is hold the phone horizontal with the camera button to the right. But it might well be opposite with another forum.
