Welcome to the new and improved Vectric Forum!

Post by Stephanie Downing »

Thank you for your patience while we updated our Forum!

We are thrilled to have completed our update and to be introducing the following improvements:

We have added the ability to embed YouTube videos and social media posts into your forum posts. To embed a YouTube video simply copy the YouTube URL of the video you would like to post and paste it into the body of your post and to embed a social media post simply click into the post you would like to embed and copy and paste the URL link into the body of the post.

We have enhanced the way you see images within posts, instead of navigating to a new page, images will show within the page of the post you’re looking at. Simply use the left and right arrows to move between multiple images.

We have also updated the view within the forum galleries, to showcase thumbnails of the projects being discussed. You can view the conversations around those topics by simply clicking on the thumbnail image. Please note – the forum will automatically choose the thumbnail image as the first image uploaded when you create your post.

We have updated some of the icons across the forum to make them more reflective of what they mean. Here you can see what the icons were previously and what they have been updated to.

If you preferred to only see topics in the categories; unanswered topics, unread posts, new posts or active topics, you can now find these categories within the ‘Quick Links’ drop down in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

We would love to hear your thoughts on our updates. Please comment below :D

Thanks
Stephanie

Is there a way to change the color scheme just for me in my profile or something? I find the grey on white text difficult to see. Getting older I guess......

I like it, especially the changes to the Gallery forums. They are meant to be galleries after all.

I agree, a more colorful background would be appreciated. Winter is BLAH enough. :)

Thank you for your feedback guys!

As it stands, there is not an alternative colour scheme you can update your profile to.

Of course, we will continue to listen to the feedback and if the general consensus is that the colour is not ideal we will certainly look at some alternatives.
Thanks
Stephanie

You have thin grey lettering on a stark white background.
Extremely difficult to read.

Layout is fine though.

I dunno, it is literally all in the eye of the beholder.

70 years old here, have all sorts of "floaters" in the old eyeballs. Wear glasses to see anything. I have no problem reading this forum at all. ::::shrug::::: In fact, for me, it is easier to read than the old forum. Crisp and clean looking.

I know some people like really dark backgrounds with neon lettering, etc. I am not one of them. 8)

That is what you get for living where the world turns white for about 5 months out of the year! Not to mention all the leaves fall off, the slush turns black, etc. I spent most of my life in the north, what was I thinking!!!! Just pulling your chain Phil. Get this, our azaleas and other stuff is already blooming around here, had to give the lawn a quick mow the other day. This is a bit abnormal for around here, usually a little bit cooler than it is right now. Got up this morning and it was 60F.

Not liking the new colors(or lack thereof) :(
May be good for phones and such...But..I'm That Guy.....Ya know, the One person in the world without a cell phone.
It doesn't look that hot being narrow and black and white on a larger screen.

Sorry Stephanie :(
