Just an open closed sign. Stripy style.

This shelf was quickly rebated out and then the shelves glued in and screwed from the back. Reclaimed timber probably Sapele.

Ollie, thank you for sharing your projects. They really look nice other than,,, I'm one of those folks who has difficulties reading open/close/hours signs on businesses. Not sure where yours will be but the color and striping make it difficult for me to read.

The sign is in a pub/restaurant actually. I must say it looks clearer in real life, the blue is lighter than it looks here and a bit easier to see, also it is quite big at 650mm tall.
Choosing the colour was difficult, I thought black would be too dark and white a bit too shocking, I nearly did tennis ball green....

Nice glueup, mixed variety planks like this are distracting by nature when lettering is put on them, it just takes time for the brain to decipher what the eyes are seeing, leaving some a bit dazzled. I likewise think that blue is not the best choice as now we have a distracting background combined with a very unnatural looking color scheme, but thats just me. You could always experiment with other colors if so inclined, I think a matte black or dark brown would be the best for standing out against the puzzled background without looking too unnatural.
