I made this sign for a little boy who lives next door to us. What do y'all think?

I appreciate the praise but I bet you could do just as good a job as me. IMHO, the trick is to prep the work piece correctly by sanding, sealing then painting it (all of the black in this piece is what wasn't cut into.) Apply oramask to it before you mount it. After the the machine does it's part, sand the remaining fuzzies and seal the newly exposed wood. Then just take your time painting it the different colors (made easy of course because of the oramask film coving all of the black), then peel the mask and clear coat. Done.

To tell you the truth, the old saying that practice makes perfect is what you really need to keep in mind when starting to do stuff like this. Nobody starts out making stuff they really like in the beginning. Best of luck.

Also, I would share the file but I purchased the vector art from someone on Etsy so I can't. But I will share a link to the page where you can buy it for yourself.

Beautifully done!
I love Etsy for inexpensive dxf/svg files to cut. They can't be beat.

I agree. Etsy is my go to place for vector art. I still haven't found a website with just as good a combination of variety and affordability.

It looks really good. The pockets for painting with a mask is genius. How deep are they? 1/8"?

Thanks. I can't take the credit for the mask idea though. I think I learned of it from a video on YouTube. And yeah, 1/8" is pretty close. I just checked the file and I set it to .1" flat depth.
