Cut Out Complex Vector

Post by pd417 »

I'm in the process of making a plaque and need to cut out the attached image (just around the outside edge).
I tried using the vector boundary tool in the modeling tab, but the program told me
"There are no Selected Components".

What's the best way to do this?

Hard to tell exactly from the picture if you have vectors or not. If you do then just create a profile outside toolpath using the outermost vector. If it's still just a bitmap then the link Randal posted is what you need.

I just used the line drawing tools to trace around the perimeter. The pic is really low quality/resolution so it is difficult to get clean lines

I totally overlooked creating a profile around the outermost vector.
I tried it and it worked, thanks Adrian.
