Here’s a model I designed using Aspire, a Bicycle built-for-two wedding plaque. This is cut in Mahogany.
I started with a picture that the client supplied, but except for part of the frame, I designed all the components here by drawing them and converting to model components.
Designed this a while ago but held off publishing until the day after. Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs.

Very nice! How long have you been modeling in Aspire? You're an inspiration.

Thank you very much!scovell wrote:Very nice! How long have you been modeling in Aspire? You're an inspiration.
Good question! Had to go and look at the dates on some of my earlier files and it looks like 2012 was when I started using Aspire. Probably only a year after I first started with V-carve.

VERY nice Bill!!
LIKE the Oval tubing mod,But pretty sure was introduced Loooong after wood spoke wheels!
Is difference in coloration just the old patina vs. the new carve?
Well Done!

Yes on the patina to a point. My wife's uncle liked wood working and at some point ordered what turned out to be two truckloads of wood, at least that was what was left after I carted it away when my wife's aunt said I could take it after he passed. I'm not sure where he got it all: Maple, Walnut, Birch, Mahogany, and others. almost all of it was planed on two sides and most was between 3/4" thick and 1" thick, although there were 1/4' and 1/2' pieces also. One or both edges were unfinished. He kept them standing up in an unheated garage. I hand planed the face just enough to remove the roughness and that's what you see around the outside edge.
Highpockets, that's a super model! I didn't go to that detail level on my bike since it would get lost on a 7 x 10 plaque. It was a fun model to build though.
