Vietnam veteran plaque

Post by basecircle »

Hi been busy.I build a lot of things for a lot of people. This one is for me. It is 12 x12 2.5 deep. All cherry. Put a mounting disc with the L E Ds The colors are from the Vietmam service ribbon. Now the fun part The plaque is made from Eps insulation. It is 8in dia 1in.thick.Well laid out the lettering and used the eagle model and stars with the Laurels.Useing Aspire one finish cut with a 1 /8th ballnose. The foam is so easy to cut and light sanding. Primed and painted using Sclupt Nouveau Bronzing paint and applied some black wax.You can pit it on a shelf or hang from wall.A fun project. And this one is mine. Thank you for looking. Basecircle

That looks great. Nice job. It's a good learning experience, and fun, to do a project for yourself.

That is very nice, Rich! Great job on all. Love the lighting and the Sculpt Nouveau Metal Finish and wax on the carving. One of my favorite finishes!

Thank you for your service!

Nice job and great finish. Thank you for your service. Many times us veterans are busy doing for others and often times forget that we did in fact serve. It is probably time I do something like this to commemorate my own service. Thanks for sharing.

I have to say that is totally awesome, my brother and I are both Veterans
He served in Vietnam, and I served from 1974-1988 both of us in the Army.
I had to take about 10 minutes just to take in the depth and meaning of your
project. I hope you will be okay with me taking ideas from your plague to
build one for my brother i totally love the concept.
thank you for your service to our country

That looks great, thanks for sharing, those types of finish on materials like MDF & foam are something that I would like to try & never seem to get round to

Wish our veterans were treated the same as yours seem to be, we just get chucked on the scrap heap, lots of UK Veterans who have been over there for things like invictus games have been overwhelmed by the differences between to 2 Countries.
