Dang! That looks wonderful, Mark!

Scott is starting to pique my interest in the tiny things too! I’ve had a particular personal project in mind for years that will require “teeny” detailed carvings.

If I can ever make the time for my “secret project”, Scott will be my go-to guy for teeny tips and advice!

Nicely done Mark!

Yup doing small stuff has lots of positives.

Less expensive.
Less time.
Can carry in pocket and show everyone you meet. (instead of showing pics on a phone)

One drawback. . . . My small stuff winds up getting given away. I am a moosh.

And I in turn blame my Dad for getting addicted Mark :)

We were making buttons at the time, and Dad and I used to "Play" during his visits from St. Albans, Vermont.
One day in April 2015 he said "Can we make a 3D button?" and I say "I Dunno"
All I had was .0625"Onsrud TBN($76!!), so I lied like heck to my machine in Cut3D about an Onsrud 30degree engraving with a .01" flat I'd been gifted calling it an imaginary TBN....
And we played with Todd Bailey's free 4M3D Celtic, and a Loon Scene on some Walnut I already had taped down all day.
DAD PLAYING BUTTON 3D FIRST DAY 4.24.15.jpg
AND at the Button Show the next day...the 3D's (after sanding all night and finishing) were the biggest hit!
President of Maine Button Society, later asked for a dozen Bloodwood "Loon" buttons to take to the annual National Show, where she sold out in 3 hours to collectors for $40 a pop!! :D

As Dad dropped me off, he said "How small can you go" AGAIN "I Dunno"....and I was off :)

Thank goodness for VCP8.5 upgrade!!!!
I could finally get an accurate preview :)

Anytime Michael...LOVE "Secret Projects" :D

Mark, Ted is right...carrying them around in a shirt pocket, AND dropping signed "Samples" of at relevant shops with a business card to the Owner works WAY better than sending pics!
As you know, playing with a piece that fits your hand is better than a 100 brochures shipped out:)
IF you can find one of the Owner's favorite subjects...all the better!
Having a wide representation of your pieces wrapped in a NICE fabric/chamois/fleece/etc. in the car if there's interest is a good idea. AND have your costs figured out HIGH!
High end niche markets will probably be your market, as well as word of mouth.

Ted is right!
When you see a person's eyes Light Up as they fall in love with a piece, very hard not to give it to them.
BUT, THEY will show it off to everybody they know, and word of mouth can surprise you!!

Rambling again:(
NICE One Mark!!

Nah Didier:)
Mark is doing just fine by himself! :)
Besides, I can always quadruple(or more my cut times with smaller bits and limit myself to files with super fine details and go TINY:)
Maybe include a 10X loupe so people can see the difference? :D
