How do you do the colour for the best result?
I have tried with black acrylic paint, but it looks like it penetrate the wood like a stain and also when I sand it down I think I rub the paint into the wood and it´s very difficult to get a good result. Are there anybody here who have tried different methodes and can help me out with this problem?

You need to seal the wood first.

The bleed is happening because you are applying paint to the end grain of the wood exposed when you cut your sign. What you need to do is seal the end grain so it doesn't absorb the paint. Before painting apply a clear sealer to the carved areas to seal the end grain. Once dry you can paint the letters as usual and sand.

Can I seal it with sanding sealer and after drying colour with another coat of coloured sanding sealer?
