inkscape file acting funny
So I made this atom shape in inkscape.
I then unioned it all together so it looks like an atom.
When I load it into v-carve it looks all out of shape.
Any idea what's going on?

What does it look like when you take the STL back into Inkscape?

Re: inkscape file acting funny
Hello,
Which file format did you use to export the drawing from Inkscape?
Can you post the Inkscape file and the exported file?
John, you probably meant the vectors exported from Vcarve, not a STL?

Hi hack613,
It may be an import issue - please send the .svg file to support@vectric.com and we will have a look.

It might have something to do with all the crossing vectors.

Thanks everybody!
Here's the file...
I'm just opening it up directly by dragging and dropping the file on the vectric icon...

Another try, I didn't notice but I think it didn't like my svg file. I just zipped it.

Try exporting as an .eps, from inkscape.

Definitely an SVG import issue. Converting to another format imports fine. I used Xara in this case but Inkscape can do it as well.

Same result with Affinity Designer

Re: inkscape file acting funny
Thanks for all the help!
I opened the SVG file in inkscape, then did saveAs to a PDF. Now it works perfectly.
So that allows me to move forward.
I also sent the file to support as they said they might tweak the import process so the svg behaves (assuming that's where the issue is).
Funny, I used to always export to a pdf and one day I noticed that the SKP (sketchup) and inkscape files can be dropped directly on my vectric icon. That's been working perfectly except this anomaly.
For the record, when I said "inkscape file acting funny', I didn't mean humorous. Bahahaha....

Re: inkscape file acting funny
It seems we got to the bottom of it. It was a quite peculiar mismatch in the conversion between the coordinates systems. Should be fixed in the next patch.
The issue only affects SVG files containing elliptical arcs. Sorry for the inconvenience.
