Re: Pizza Board
Only problem with that is that if it is a feature you have to be able to re create it which probably isn't as easy as it sounds the way wood behaves or doesn't when you want it toweirdbeard wrote:Thanks guys, if I ever manage to sell one with the engraving on the base ill post it up.
I was a little disappointed with this one as the base was too thin and bowed a little, not bad enough to be wrecked but not perfect either.
Some might actually call the bow a feature as now if placed on a flat surpface it can spin like a lazy susan

Naw. Just mark the bowed ones as "Special Editions" with a 50% upcharge.martin54 wrote:Only problem with that is that if it is a feature you have to be able to re create it which probably isn't as easy as it sounds the way wood behaves or doesn't when you want it to

Re: Pizza Board
Do you have any dimensions you could share? Diameter, thickness of slice holders, base, toolpath info, ect because it looks like you rounded over your edges?

Re: Pizza Board
Hiya, The Board is made to suit a 12" pizza. I used a point cutting roundover bit (I think thats what you call them ) and setup a custom Form tool in Vectric to get the rounded edges

Re: Pizza Board
Liked your design so much decided to give it a try( hope you don't mind). Very similar to your design 12" pizza, 1/4" Point Cut Round Over. Edge glued birch wood, used Zinsser's Universal Shellac Sealer which I sanded off once all parts were cut. Used Mineral oil and it came out good yet feel it can be tweaked a tad more.weirdbeard wrote:Hiya, The Board is made to suit a 12" pizza. I have to figure out how to post images correctly once I do I will post results.
Thank you for the fun design.

Finally able to post images of the edge glued birch pizza board design copy from weirdbeard's design. It came out good yet feel it can be tweaked a tad more.

Re: Pizza Board
Do as I did use the original pictures as reference then create the design from scratch using Vcarve Pro. Or if you have Aspire.
By doing so you get to use many of the features/tools when designing this. I found it to be a fun project learned a few things along the way.

Re: Pizza Board
Wonderful design. When you perfect it you should sell the pattern online - I'll bet people would pay for it as a project - especially if you did the lazy susan bottom for real.
