3 Gifts

Post by Mobius »

I haven`t been out to the shop much lately, it`s been a busy summer of yard projects. However, this past weekend I made some time to finish a few gifts that have been waiting in my que.

The first is for a baby shower my wife is going to. Just a simple V-carve into some maple flooring that I glued together, but I think it turned out quite nice.

The second is a wedding present for my wife`s cousin. Pretty standard `stacked text`sign for me, but I added a new color scheme to my bag of tricks.

The last one is another fairly simple design, for a friend`s wedding in September. It`s based on their wedding invitation.

Thanks for looking!

Nice work. I like the softened/rounded edges on the pockets of the last one, and the choice of wood/color on the first. The middle one I have trouble reading the text with the color scheme - it's probably a lot easier when seen in person full-size.

Connor,
I liked all three the way you made them. I like the tree the best. Nice work and thank you for sharing your work.

Where did you get the tree or did you create it? The birds are a nice touch. I missed them when I first looked at the piece.

The design for the tree I scanned from their wedding invitation, and then adapted it to be suitable for v-carving and added the wording to personalize it.

I couldn't find exactly the same tree but I found quite a few that would work with a google search for Birds in tree
