Not so sure that I fall into either of those categories James, but I registered yesterday and will be there for the third year in a row now. Anyone who hasn't been the first time should try to attend if you can. It has definitely improved my projects. James B., Becki (Becky?), and Sara from Vectric, Ltd are good folks to meet and talk with.

Thanks James. I do like to share when I can. I certainly have made good use of the Extrude and Weave tool since it became available, and I'm wondering what new magic tool will be in the upcoming Aspire release.

I will have to add this to my bucket list, actually it will be top of my bucket list seeing as I don't currently have one

Being in the UK & not having a lot of spare money makes this a bit of a challenge but hopefully one day I will have saved up enough for a trip across

I have been staying at the Holiday Inn Express Columbia - Downtown and will probably do the same this time. Seems like a good location and is not far from McGrews.

really looking forward to the camp. learning, seeing, and meeting some of the names I read on the forum. my first time, so a couple of questions, I'm sure there will be more. I see that many people brought their laptops. why? also, will someone be taking videos of the speakers? ted

Ted,
There is more information given during the camp than you could imagine.
I bring my laptop so I can try out the new ideas..on the spot....
Nothing like getting back home and remembering that you forgot so much...
As for the video..
I'm not sure but I would doubt it.
It would be hard to capture everything that goes on.
If you watch the tutorials you'll get a great amount of information.
The camp just makes it more real.
The networking is worth it's weight in gold...

We do Not video for two reasons, I will get this question several times,, This event is a personal doing that My shop fellows and I do. It started out as a bunch of fun and by doing it this way it has continued to be FUN, when it is not I will stop, I do not do anything unless I get rich or it is FUN and I do not get rich on this camp !! I will let the others speak for the value but if what they tell me is true then I keep holding it. it is set in a large commercial architectural shop, not a hotel it is really at time far more a gathering of great friends who have been blessed to find and use the Vectic software and benefit from that such as I have !!

One attendance is what drives the camp,

Two whether we had attendance or not production cost would drive up expenses

And Three the Most important,, there is no greater value than face to face contact with all these screen names !! the show and tell and meeting and making personal contact is a value you take home and continue to use long after the Camp.

I have made some video of some of it in the past but to video this much volume and produce it ain't cheap

James does not seem to shut down his business for the three days. There are employees working elsewhere in the building during the camp. Production work on his big Camaster machine may be at a standstill due to safety factors though, I don't know about that. People are wandering around looking at everything there is to see, talking to others on the classroom breaks, taking photos, etc. This is a low key event that is one of the most enjoyable things I have done. There are drinks and snacks provided each day. There are other VCP/Aspire camps in the US that are beyond my driving range but I'm sure they would all be worth going to.

I would hold one of these in my shop, but my class size would have to be limited to three people who already know more than I do.
