Hi Pops,
I used a 22.5 degree (45 degrees total) engraving bit set at a depth of .012" for this one. I set the speed up to 150" per minute and ran the router at about 18k RPM. I used an 1/8" up cut endmill for the cut out with tabs. That was set at about 12k RPM at 70" per minute.
The engraving had some melting of the acrylic but it did not seem to affect the way the sign lit up. If you can make sure your material is absolutely flat I suggest you engrave it at .008". I get my engraving bits from ebay (China). They are carbide and run only abou $1.20 each. I've had excellent results with them on oak and in my limited experience they seem ok on acrylic. I have a diamond drag bit ordered.

Great result mate. I have only done a few test pieces so far but fill follow your settings and see if i get better results.
