Mirror not working

Post by Robert M »

I've used the mirror command many times in the past. I just tired it with version 4.5 and can't get it to work. I want to mirror a circle created in the lower left corner and create a copy of that object in the lower right corner. I have the create mirrored copy checked. The only thing that happens is I get my circle flipped to the opposite side so I still only have one circle. Never had any issues before. Closed Aspire and ran a new instance of it with the same issue. What am I overlooking?

Thanks

Could the disappearing original be hiding on an "off" layer?

I tried running the same file on my laptop and it works fine. The computer in my shop has a three monitor setup. Two monitors are being used for Aspire. Perhaps that's the issue.

Hmmm, usually if a program is running on the "main" monitor everything will work fine. There are a few programs I use that go a bit berserk when they are run on an extended monitor. Try running it on the main monitor?

As a follow up to Ted's comment, make sure it really is gone : force a screen refresh (minimize the maximize the window) to see if it is gone or just not drawn.

I am running from the main monitor and tried the min/max window procedure. Tried it again this evening with the same results. I also run Adobe Illustrator and ViaCad on the same computer without any problems. Just not sure why the mirror command does not work.

Robert,

What happens when the select the first circle and use the horizontal copy/mirror shortcut: Ctrl-Shift-h?
