mirror frames

Post by dansfoundry »

I recently acquired a large quantity of high quality laminated mirrors from surplus of a solar array that never happened. So I have been making a few frames. Here is one that I styled in the "pueblo deco" motif.
This was inspired by The Kimo theater in Albuquerque NM that I watched movies as a young fella. The colorful buffalo skull light sconces in the theater made quite an impression on me.

So this my interpretation of them. It was modeled in Aspire and cut out of 30 pound HDU and painted in acrylic by my patient and talented wife Cheryl . Without her all of my work would be be raw materials :>)

Thanks Dan

Nice, keep in mind you can easily etch the mirrors as well with a diamond drag bit should the need arise ,,, When you got a stock of items never hurts to offer customization options.

MS Wolffie, sorry about the confusion, that is where the high quality of the actual mirror comes into play. What you see within the frame is the reflection of another nearby tree. Dan

I was hoping somebody would bring that up... I totally missed that the inside of the frame was a reflection too.
