Posts for an upcoming sign project

I've been making my own posts for all our sign projects.
Here is a shot of posts we just finished waiting for the install of a sign project.

These are just posts wraps, we still use a treated 4x4 posts inside these and the 4x4 posts is what provides the strength and what gets buried in the ground, these are just to make to posts look good.

I got tired of not having access to good posts from the lumber yards so I took it upon myself to make my own. Thanks to Vectric these posts are easy to do.

These are basically a box we built that we will slide a pressure treated 4x4 into. These don't go into the ground the 4x4s go into the ground. We do edge seal our posts to prevent moisture from migrating up them. I don't do any treatment to the 4x4s.

I called them a wrap because I am covering a boring 4x4, guess they could be called a sleeve to.
We do attach our posts to the 4x4s with screws on the inside section of the post.

We've used all three in the past, these are Extira.

I'm fearful of using PVC because of potential warpage. In the past I used MDO when I went dark colors on the posts but really hate how the plys look when you add fultes or pocket a section out, to many voids and rough spots. I finally found a distributor in my area that carries Extira and had to make the switch, I even plan on using the Extira for my lighter colored post to. The price of PVC seams to keep creeping up, I will offer it for posts for a client for an upcharge on light light colors but not for dark. These pictured are a mix a 1/2" and 3/4" extira. The wider 10" sections are 1/2" and the short sides are 3/4". I have screws through the 10" faces into the 3/4" as well as Titebond glue along the seam. All screws where countersunk and filled.
