Private Messaging is now enabled

With the Forum rapidly growing and evolving into an interesting and useful resource that's
being used by members and visitors on a daily basis. We have decided to enable the
Private Messaging service to make it easier and faster for members to contact each other.

When viewing a Post you'll see the PM button in the bottom left corner of the post and this
allows you to send a private message directly to an individual member.



Private messaging is completely confidential and nobody - including administrators - can
open your personal messages.

You will receive an e-mail message when a Private Message has been sent and this
includes a link to view the message on the Forum. Private Messaging gives you your
own Inbox where message can be viewed, replied to, deleted and saved.

There are limits on the number of messages you can have at any one time.

Maximum 50 messages stored in your Inbox
Maximum 25 messages stored in your Sentbox
Maximum 25 messages stored in your Savebox

Hey Tony, I like the idea of the PM ability. There are many time when 2 users need to get together for project information and such. That feature will cut down on a lot of the additional chatter on your web page that may not need to be there, plus it is any easy quick way to guys to get together.

I can not find the PM on post that I am looking at. I think its great just cant find it.

The Private Message facility was turned off for all new users a while ago. Not sure if it was re-enabled as part of the forum upgrade but as far as I know only older members who pre-date that policy change have the facility to send PM's.

I have a vague memory that the PM is available after a certain number of posts for new members.
I also remember one member contacting Vectric Staff to get it turned on.
