Don't think it matters all that much, it seems most tutorial prospects fade away into oblivion. Best thing to do would probably be just do it and post, without seeking opinions of this or that. I do think a tutorial section would very much be in order, many topic specific forums have a tutorial section.
Agreed on the first part and would LOVE to see a member tutorial area. Even if it's for short tips and tricks for those of us who feel video is so much more useful in learning techniques.
I think you are reading a bit too much into this Wolffie, I take it you are referring to my comment, I don't see anything negative about it.
This isn't the first tutorial offer to apparently wither on the vine, this one for example http://www.vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=17139 Thats why I think it would be better to simply do it while the urge is there and post without trying to gather comments on whether or not people want it.
I've done many tutorials over the years. Sign making, marketing etc.. In fact one I did was looked at over 18,000 times on another site.
It takes a lot of time and work to get one done. Photos, copy, and assemble every thing in the right order takes more than a few hours.
So bgriggs needs some time to get his done. IT wil be a good one.
However, It would be great to see a single place for tutorials to live. A tutorial forum here would be an ideal place to concentrate that kind of knowledge.
I sure could use a tutorial on edge lit signs. I have been trying to make one but I am having trouble getting it to light right. My acrylic seems to get flooded with color instead of just the routed areas.
I attached a photo of a sample I was playing with to see if someone could help me.
I have just done the last supper in 3/4" acrylic.
The slot for the base is tight and the lights are underneath the piece.
All I get is a little bit of floodlight on the bottom not the edge effect I was looking for.

I don't know why the acrylic wouldn't light up properly. I usually sand the bottom edge and flame the edges including the bottom so the are all clear but I know a lot of people don't do that. What LED lights are you using? Are they colored and are they bright?
The Last Supper is a pretty large image. What is the size you are making it and how thick?
I've been trying to post some pictures of the Acrylics I have done but the Vectric's site keeps timing out. I reduce them and have posted many others so I guess I will have to wait until it's less busy.
