Toy Cars

Post by dhellew2 »

I promised I would post some plans for toy cars. To align the fenders on the body I use a couple of axle pegs, sanded and waxed so the glue won't stick. Remove glue squeeze out with a plastic drinking straw. When gluing I use my finger and remove about a 1/8" strip around the outside of the fender to minimize squeeze out. Fenders and body parts are rounded with a round-over bit on a shaper or router table. I buy the wheels and axle pegs already made. If you want black wheels, use water based alanine dye.

Dale, Thanks for the carve files. I'm thinking I'll be carving each one. Birthdays and Christmas come to mind.

Thanks again,

Dave

Thank you Dale that is most generous!!!

Every year at Christmas our Church sends gifts to kids all around the world, this year I plan on making a contribution using your files that I downloaded.
Also thanks for the building tips. What type of wood and finish do you use? I assume a child save finish and where do you get the wheels and axles?

Thanks,

Mark

Thank you Dale

This generous offer will come in very handy for my next project.

Our church bazaar is in about a months’ time and they are asking conurbations for the “White Elephant” table.

I guess I will have to get busy and include some of these as “white elephants” together with Michael’s Paradise Box that I adapted to a Bible Box and of course three of the stunning Tripod Pedestal Tables.
