An example of slicing in cut 3D
Hi all you Vectric enthousiasts, here's a sign project we have in the shop. My frien Éric wich does my 3D designs scratched is head till he bled when I told him what I wanted to do and mostly how I intended to do it. I wanted to use Styrofoam with magic smooth (abracadabra designs) for the rougher parts an HDU for the Pickup truck and fifth wheel. Since 3D cuts are causing me to have some steps lost(Z axis only),I decided to not go more than 2" thick per slice to limit "Z" travels. The background panel was done with V-Carve and the really cool prismatic lettering feature !!! The slice feature made it a breeze for me when it was time to program the routing.
Of course now the fun ( hard ) part begins, sanding and painting. I'll post some more pictures when this project is completed. It is a double faced 4' X 8'. It will have a starry night setting with moon over lake background, there is will also be an inflated boat and beach ball, thy are being routed as I'm writing this!
Note That parts have not yet been cleaned, some fuzzys are left)

The depth of that is going to be eye catching.
A lot of people do not realize how easy Vectric has made slicing, there are a lot of possibilities out there. When you get it finished, post a picture of it with something for scale, it looks like it will be very nice.

Thanks for this great example of 3D slicing/modeling. Hmmm, maybe I need Cut 3D also.

Hi guys , here's a picture of how it looked in my pick-up truck :
I'll post some pics of the final install later. There is another services sign that will be installed under this one, + we have to do some finishing on the suncap, paint the inside in black to make it fade in the background etc...

That is awesome! Is that blue stuff the blue insulation foam? I think it is called EPP?
How did you finish it to protect it for the outdoors?

Hi, I covered the blue insulation foam with Abracadabraq design's Magic smooth. Some form of epoxy that is sold in buckets. Hard to mix, but once it is well mixed, it warms up and becomes aesy to spread.
