Problem with Scale

Post by Warren »

Hi James,

Trying to do a test with one of your FREE .v3m files (Fleur De Lys B)
After saving the toolpaths file in 3D Machinist with material size set to 150 sq. I have imported it into VCarve Pro, with material size set to 200 sq.
I expected the .v3m image to be smaller than the material size set in VCP. As you can see from the attached .jpg something is not correct.
Have I missed something here? Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Warren.

Hi Warren,

The greyscale image being shown in VCPro looks like a Type A model
not a dished Type B that's being shown in the VA3D-M image?

My guess is you are importing a different sized model?

Tony

As Tony says it is probably a different file (with a similar name). Make sure to give it a unique name you recognise when you save it so you can be sure to load the right one into VCP (i manage to do this often!). If this does not do the trick then please email me the V3M model with the toolpaths to take a look at - jab(at)carve3d(dot)com - thanks, James

Thanks Tony & James,

You were both spot on.
I had imported the incorrect file.

Just keeping you on your toes.

Thanks again, now I can cut the file I was looking for.

Regards,
Warren.
