I have placed the copyright notice at the very bottom of my catalog web pages.

James, does this cover the intellectual property needs of you and others involved with VectorArt3D?

Hi Randall,

That is perfect, the only thing you may want to add to protect yourself as well as us (or other clipart vendors) is something along the lines of this:

Images and text from this website may not be reproduced without the permission of the owners of the site and/or the copyright owners of the original images.

This is not necessarily lawyer-speak but I would think all of you with websites whether it shows our artwork or not would want something similar to this on their sites.

Thanks,
James

OK - some good news and progress on aids to show our files to your customers. If you have an account with Vector Art 3D when you login you will go to a screen called Returning Customer. There is a link now in the list which says "Unbranded PDF Catalog" - this has a minimal copyright notice on it but otherwise does not refer to Vector Art 3D so you should be able to print it as something to show you customers without them knowing where you are buying your models. This is probably still a pretty big file to download (20Mb) but hopefully addresses some peoples needs. We are working on the website option too which if all goes according to plan could end up being very cool indeed! More on that when I have it.

One other thing that is active on the site but we have not mentioned is that we have live RSS feeds. This if like me you are not familiar with this, it stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a way for web-browsers and specialist software to get live updates from website. The benefit of this is if you use it then it can show you a list of the most recent news articles (if I get round to writing some) but more importantly show you we have added new models whenever we add them. Depending how you have it set up then it can actually alert you when we add them without you needing to check the site or miss any. As I say I am not an expert on this function but if you look at the bottom of the web page www.vectorart3d.com then you will see the links to subscribe to this service. Or you can use these links in your RSS software if you already use it:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/VectorArt3DModels - new models
http://feeds.feedburner.com/VectorArt3DNews - new stories/articles

Cheers,
James
