PhotoVcarve

Post by lordice »

I'm new to this forum, and recently purchased Photovcarve.
No matter what I do after saving my work in photovcarve (creating the GCODE) and opening carbide motion and using GCODE generated from Photovcarve the job starts but it never moves more than an .25 inch on surface of project.
I created a roughing pass gcode and then a detail pass gcode.

I have tried everything and at my wits end. I do not see actual Gcode to save for the Shapokeo XXL so I have been using the genric gcode inch.tap.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your control software expecting a file in inches or millimetres?

yes i have carbide motion the control software for my shapeoko XXL using inches.
I have tried several different scenarios with the same result over and over again.

Appreciate your feed back.

I confirmed I have photovcarve and my control software both set too inches.
I have ran other jobs in Carbide create with no issues.

I'm at a lost.

any other God's of the trade out there have any ideas?
would love to get this working ,but feel this was a waste of money.

I have watched every video out there on photovcarve and followed step by step and still at ground zero.
in photovcarve it allows me to create the gcode no issue again i use the genric gcode inch.tap and can send to carbide motion with no errors.

the job starts no issues
but like i said it runs but never moves past a .25 inch area for duration of the run of file.

Use the search function and limit it to PhotoVCarve, lot of good information out there.

Don't know if this would work for your machine, but Adrian made a pp for someone else a few years ago

Don't give up, the program works great, just need to get it working with your machine.
If all else fails, write directly to Vectric support, there are very good about helping people and it definitely won't be the first time they've had to deal with a Shapeoko issue.

I was wondering if the type of machine you have has a forum? If so I would post this problem there also. I am sure someone there has had this same problem.. It looks to me that it is a pp problem. Just contact Vectric support, they will probably ask you a few questions about your machine and whip you out a pp for that particular machine.
