I'm really loving the laser module. I had to alter the GRBL post processor to remove any Z motion. At first I was tempted to remove the Z entries but I decided to use the scale factors to accomplish the same thing by reducing the motion to 0.

Here are the entries in the customized PP and I thought this was a clever approach to share. I also included the $32=1 at the beginning so I never forget to turn it on/off. I can almost do it with one post processor if it had one more tweak to it.

And the new Laser Module does really nice work. J-Tech 4.2W spindle mount laser (80% Power / 1100mm / min).

And I'm in a US Navy mood today. First time playing with scaling a STL on one axis only during the import. Also, I tried Hatch Fill with the Laser Module for the first time. It all worked. I think I finally for my post processors sorted out.

As I mentioned before, beautiful piece of work.
But I gotta ask.
You mentioned before that you set the Z to zero movement.
If that's the case, are you not loosing focus when burning the on the curvature of the handle?
I have the J-Tech 7 watt, and the focus is at 1.5", which is .125" above the work.
Being that it has a shroud on it, that doesn't leave much room for Z travel. (3D work)
I've been doing all flat work with other laser software.

The depth of field for the laser is large enough that you can easily get away setting it to 1/8" above the workpiece and running the job that way. Keep you from breaking your laser unless you're careless
