Fixed Z Height (Laser Position) Throughout Program

Post by Samarah »

This is probably a simple solution, but I finally give up and am asking for help.

I'm trying to get the Z height to remain the same through the entire laser program, no retract on any moves until the retract to Z-Home at the end of cutting. I can seem to set the clearance to zero without manually editing the code.

I am attaching a simple part with a few shapes, the g-code, and the post processor.

Try this link on the "no Z" post processor: viewtopic.php?p=275782#p275782

What you're asking for is done in the post processor.

Thanks Tex.

Much appreciated. It worked great!

I would have never thought of using the multiplier to essentially make it zero.

:D Didn't intend to "shade" your effort, Gary! Of course, Gary is the source for this post processor knowledge on the laser posts!

Thanks again, Gary!

Never took any slight at all. Glad to see the knowledge being shared. I’m going to replace all my existing post processors soon with a single one using lua.
