laser toolpath not previewing

Post by totallc »

using Aspire 11.09 and suddenly my laser toolpath wont show up in preview. My first thought was that it was too light, so I changed the settings to 100%,5mm/sec,100 passes. Still nothing. I normally dont have a problem with it showing up, any suggestions?

The software rarely changes behaviour spontaneously. Have you set the toolpath simulation setting to a lower value? Doing so with other toolpaths that lightly score the surface causes them to “disappear”.

No its set to maximum. In fact to make sure that I wasnt crazy, I created an entirely new file and just put a box and the letter T on the drawing. Then I set the laser to the following specs (power 100%, 1mm/sec, 100 passes) which should mark it really really dark. and still nothing

Change your kerf width. You've got it at 0.0001". I changed it to 0.3mm and the preview shows fine.

Didn't realise you had posted this elsewhere and it was already answered. Both threads came to the same conclusion though.
