Lines on each side using laser photo toolpath

Post by bcombs510 »

Hello,

I’ve done two tests with the Laser Photo toolpath. Both times they have a single line up each side of the image. Sort of like the border of the bitmap that was imported. Is there a way to avoid that?

Does the line appear in the preview or just the finished item? Can you attach a photo?

Here is a link to the FAQ describing how to upload your photo or file. (How do I upload files or photos to the forum?)

If the file is too large to upload here you can use a file sharing site such as drive.google.com, onedrive.com, or dropbox.com. They all have free accounts available
  • Upload the file to the file sharing site
  • Make the link shareable
  • Share the link to the file here
For screenshots use the Windows Snipping tool. These are far easier to read than photos taken with your phone.

Thanks, Randall.

It does not show in the preview. The images are just standard JPG nothing special about them. Here is an example:

Any suggestions would be great.

General rule of thumb is that if it doesn't show on the preview then the issue is outside of the Vectric software.

Hard to say exactly what is causing it without seeing a picture of the result though.

Thanks. Here is an example of the output. I sanded off most of the line but around the buttons I couldn’t quite get it all removed. It does seem to align with the border of the imported JPG.

One additional note: I tried again with a PNG and I do not get the lines.

Thanks for all the help. I’ve enjoyed working with the new laser module overall. This issue is not a huge problem but it adds a lot to the machine time to go out to the outside edges of the image and drop a single dot for each line.

Also, in case it helps. I’m using this Jtech laser and PP on a Shark HD510. The laser is attached to the Shark controller through the 20 pin connector on the front.
