Glowforge Laser

Post by ashdon »

Aspire works great with Glowforge. Only problem is that the artwork has to be colored . You can do this by using layer colors for each type cut/score/engrave.. You export in "SVG" format to the Glowforge. Using layer colors will get you by, but I prefer to us Adoby Ill. to group and color the drawings after I have use Aspire to do all the cleanup work, tracing/joining/and vector editing.

Aspire is also great for scaling your work so that you can match the slots and tabs for the thickness of material you are using. Quater inch, Eith inch have gone the way of the 2x4 when it comes to materials. You can also go from metric to US of A and back with ease in Aspire.

You can now download speed and % of laser table for all sorts of material from Glowforge so you no longer need to experiment to use off the lumber yard stock.

I started with Aspire over 15 years ago using a CNC. My work turned to Laser when Glowforge first came on the market.

Glad to help anyone that wishes
