I am selling my CNC (upgrading to a new one) and one interested party was an ACM (Aluminum Composite Material) fabricator making mostly boxes for building cladding. I was thinking how best for him to add boxes, basically a job-specific parametric program and realized that's what gadgets do.
Interested in seeing if anyone versed in these things might want to quote on making such a thing if the deal goes ahead. It's basically a box of X by Y size, with smaller boxes on the 4 edges and some lines that overlay some of the lines (grooving lines).
Ideally, then applying a dogbone fillet to the inside corners too, but that could still be done by hand if needed. See the attached photo pulled off the net for the basic idea. I could likely do this with a keyboard driven macro too, but a gadget would likely be even better.
I can be reached at 1-800-665-5811 as well

Re: ACM box gadget
I imagine that this would be very easy in a gadget, but also very easy from the normal toolset.
If you really want to automate this, I could make a Windows GUI stand-alone program that outputs CSV information that when loaded defines the vectors. Or a gadget like you suggest.

Awesome Paul.
I'll drop you a line if the deal goes through....nice to know it can be done without me learning how to do it!
Thanks, Greg
