Hi,
I'm having issues with this gadget when trying to create the blind finger joints. The gadget draws the vectors for the "blind panel" on both the side and end pieces but does not create a tool path for any of them. I have made pocket tool paths for both the ends or sides, neither seems to work correctly. In both attempt options the joint does not close properly with "gappy" fingers on the inside of the corner. Is there something I'm missing?
Hi Philadkins,
Can you send me the details (size, thickness, bits, finger count, etc..) on the Tray you are trying to make?
Hi Philadkins,
I have tested the gadget with your settings. I do not get any error or see any issues with the gadget.
My Questions:
1. What version of the gadget?
2. Can you send me the output .crv file?
Yes I can. Im on ver. 1.7. I opened your .crv and I do not have a tool path for the "End Panel Blind" of the "Side Panel Blind" vectors. Am I supposed to?

I think we have a communication issue, lol. The fingers blind path is not the same as the panel blind vector, and does not cut the tab that hides the joint. That's the issue I'm having. Also, I tried your easy drawer gadget and it creates the tool path for the "side blind" vector.

I have updated the code to address the blind tab issue.
FYI: The gadget can also create a closed box with a lid. Create two trays of the same length and width. Make one tray taller for the bottom with a captured bottom and the other tray, shorter with a rabbeted style bottom for the lid.
This Version 1.8

Install
1. Download the gadget EasyTrayMaker.zip that is attached to this post.
2. Rename it from EasyTrayMaker.zip to EasyTrayMaker.vgadget
3. In Vectric Pro or Aspire click on Gadgets -> Install Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it and click Ok.
It should give you a pop up saying the gadget was installed and you should see EasyTrayMaker in the Gadgets menu.
See the error below. This happened when I used a dado clearing bit the same size as the dado bit (in error). When I tried to "X" out the clearing bit I get this error. However, I can edit the dado clearing bit tand he gadget creates the tool paths as expected.

Hello Andy,
Hope you're having a fantastic day and my apologies for not seeing this message earlier.
Thank you for sending me this information. After several test I was able to be create the error. I will be posting a new version to the gadget as soon as I have opportunity to fix the code.
I have updated the code to address the endless error trapping loop on attempting to clear a preselected tool issue. The solution will allow you to select tools for the Dado or Finger clearing path that are of the same bit diameter or smaller than the primary tool. You will be presented a message box (see below) and the solution will step over the issue and produce the drawing and toolpaths correctly.

Great Gadget. Working so far for me. Will keep on testing it.
Suggestion. Can you add a pop-up or comment to each of the fields for the various tools, that would suggested the best type of tool to use. It is for the newbies and the old folks like me, that keep on forgetting.

Hello pviljoen,
The Gadget Menu doesn't support "ToolTips" as other menu systems do. I think this will work. (see the images below) If so, let me know and I will add these "Reminders" to the gadget menus. I may try another method but please let me know your thoughts.
