Hello boys and girls,

The other day, I was asked if I could write a "simple" gadget to layout cabinet door faces. These doors would be cut out of MDF material. These are relatively simple doors with about six styles of panels. I was also ask, if I could incorporate some fluting for each style (horizontal and vertical) that would be recessed inside the panel.

Well, as you know, nothing is just simple. After getting some feedback from a expert (you know who you are)... I have added a few features:
1. Reads a CSV file for batch processing.
2. It cam make ad hoc doors from the main dialogue
3. When a door is too small to be drawn correctly it writes a log file (same place as CSV file)
4. Remembers your last inputs
5. Supports both metric and imperial.
6. Somewhat of an online help.
7. Last but not least, pretty strong error trapping

I know everyone is not crazy about making cabinet doors. But if you're interested in writing your own gadgets, you deftly could leverage the source code. There is a little over 1800 lines of code here and as always if you have questions I'm happy to help.

I'm thinking this gadget is pretty close to being done one. So, If you feel up to it, download and install the gadget and test drive it. If you have some time provide some feedback on what works and what doesn't... That would be great.

what do I need to do to install the easy MDF door maker version 10.2

Would appreciate some guidance on using this - not working for me.

Downloaded the file
Extracted the .lua (7zip)
Renamed the .lua file to EasyMDFDoorMaker_Ver10.2.vgadget
In VCarve Pro (11.009) :
Gadgets
Install New Gadget...
Navigated to and selected the renamed file
Error: Failed to Install Gadget

do not unzip the zip file. rename the zip file to .vgadget
