That looks great... Now all I need is a way to hold boards vertical in my CNC.

Re: Easy Dovetail Maker 4.0
Hello All,
I hope are doing well today.
I just completed my test run of the Easy Dovetail Maker. Have a look at the video.
Notes:
1. I had 0.010 inch entered in the Fit Adjustment value. I am thinking I can drop that down to 0.003 on the next test or may need to go to -0.003.
2. I did not have the Origin Point correct. I see the joint is not 100% centered.

Let me know your thoughts.

Re: Easy Dovetail Maker 4.0
Hi Jim,
Watched your video. That’s exactly the way I did it the very first time I cut dovetails on my CNC. So I should tell you that you made the same mistake I did. Traditionally dovetails are always cut with half a pin on the outside. You cut yours (as I did) with half a tail on the outside. I think the reason is if you make them by hand a half tail is more likely to cause a split on the board than half a pin. I have now always made mine the traditional way with half a pin on the outside. Check any furniture you have with dovetails and the pins will be on the outside.

HI Bill,
No, No, No... Thank You! I am very happy that you told me about the issue. I need and want the feedback from the team. I would hate to put something out there an no one use it because it was not working correctly.
Again, Thank you for the feedback.

You’re welcome! On your original post, your image shows the joint the traditional way, so unless you made the video, I probably wouldn’t have noticed until I tried it.jimandi5000 wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2020 5:28 pmHI Bill,
