It seems to be a very generational thing. With the other software I've worked on older people wanted documentation and younger people wanted videos with some being extremely vocal if their chosen format wasn't available. Personally I prefer the written word and screenshots as I find videos are nearly always too slow paced so my attention wanders and then I start skipping forward which sort of defeats the purpose.

Jim,

I really appreciate how much you are contributing. You are making this a great community of craftsmen (and women) where we help each other with creative solutions.

Thanks!

So happy to help. My goal is to show everyone it's not hard to build their own gadgets. I had a hard time getting started so, I am trying to set this up to kickstart their learning.
Thanks,
Jim

Hello All,
Here is Versions 7.1

I was working on the cabinet gadget for someone and I added a simple Color selection to the layer dialog.

Let me know if you have issues.

I get a 'Failed to install' error when trying to install the latest version 7.1. I have changed the extension to .vgadget

Hi Dave,

Tell me about your system and have you tried copying the gadget file directly to your Gadget folder and see if that works?
you will need to open the zip file and find the EasyCabinetMaker7.2.lua file and copy it to the EasyCabinet folder.
i.e. "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Vectric Files\Gadgets\...\EasyTools\EasyCabinetMaker\"

and restart your vectric software.
Thanks,
Jim

I found out that if I copy the folder with the ,lua file into my Gadget Folder, that it did work. If I changed the file type to .vgadget and tried to 'Install' the gadget it did not work. I am running Aspire 10.502 and Windows 10. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave,

I am not sure what the issue is, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Glad we got it working. :)
Thanks,
Jim

I’d like to give this a try!
Is there a more condensed how to for this gadget- I’ve tried every which way to get this to work-
I am running vcarve pro 9.5- and downloaded the final version of the gadget for cabinet maker and tools and hinge files- I’ve Renamed and added file as specified Then added into the gadget folder And just keep getting the error - saying project not loaded or a Nil error- When attempting to open the gadget in Vcarve. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks

Hello Njboost,

For Version 9.5 and below try this version of the gadget.
