Jimbo,

How are you? I hope things are well with you.

Would you take a look at the attached file. I tried to create a cabinet that was tall an skinny. The first sheet looks good.

Hi Willy,

I looked at the drawing and the parts look correct. The only thing I see, the X and Y are flipped on the sheet size.
I will have a look and see what is happening in the code.
Thanks for showing me this.
Thanks,
Jim

Hey Jim,

I see the same Sheet 2, 3, 4 has flipped for some reason (Also noted dimensions of these sheets are far different from the first sheet too!)

Yep, I see in the code that the x and y are flipped. I should have a update tonight.
Thanks,

Hello CNC'er's,

I have fixed the Sheet size and part location issue.

Here is version 13.8 and will only work within version 11+ of the VCarve Pro or Aspire.

Supports:
Version 11+ VCarve Pro or Aspire.

The Easy Install Steps:

1. Download the gadget EasyCabinetMaker.zip that is attached to this post.
2. Rename it from EasyCabinetMaker.zip to EasyCabinetMaker.vagdget
3. In Vectric Pro or Aspire click on Gadgets -> Install Gadget and navigate to where you downloaded the file to, select it and click Ok.

If successful, a pop up saying the gadget was installed and you should see EasyCabinetMaker is now in the Gadgets menu.

Due to the User Guide and Help Manual size, I have to post them on my site. You will find download links on the web page.

As always, I welcome your feedback.

Hello All,

Per request, we added an option for the Base Cabinet Top. You can select Stretchers or Solid Panel for the top. Based on the selection, the proper milling and parts will be added to the drawing and cut list.

Here is version 14.5 and will only work within version 11+ of the VCarve Pro or Aspire.

As always, we welcome your feedback.

Happy Easter Jimbo,

I did a test on version 14.5 and attached is what was generated. It looks usable.

I guess if I was to whine about something it would be the fact that both sides should be on some sheet? Or move to a new sheet if they both don't fit on one sheet like they are stacked.

Sheets 2,3 and 4 are not displayed as full size sheets.

Looks like more than one way to do this.

Anyway, thanks for the gadget!

Til Valhalla,

Willy

Hello Willy,

Thanks for the feedback on sheet usage. I'm probably not going to modify the current version of the gadget to support this request. But, I am designing a complete rewrite of the cabinetry suite of gadgets (Easy cabinet, Easy Door, and Easy Drawer maker gadgets) into a single gadget called "Premier Cabinetry" this gadget will be a complete rewrite and consolidation of the previously mentioned gadgets and it will support multiple cabinet styles (face frame, no face frame style cabinets) and I will be adding component to sheet selection as an option. This option will allow the user to set up sheet materials and sheet dimensions. The user and select cabinet components and designate the sheet for the cabinet parts will be drawn and toolpath on.

Again, this will be a complete rewrite so don't expect this to be complete by next week.
Thanks,
Jim

Jimbo,

Thanks for the info! That sounds like a major undertaking, are you up for it?

Seems like this software is begging for different levels of complexity to be available to the user.

Maybe a Quick cabinet option? The software asks a couple of questions and "BAM" there's the drawing.

For those needing a more complete solution an Advanced cabinet option.

Just sayin'

Anyway, great tool.

Til Valhalla,

Willy

Willy,
I think you are going to really like what I have planed.
You are correct, I believe it takes too much input to get a cabinet out of the current tools. I am rebuilding the user interface and simplifying the the journey from start to output will really help gadget and the user experience.
Thanks,
Jim
